If you played on the Ruined Rift map in the new RGM, you might have noticed your performance was a little worse if you're using a laptop or older computer. Elements of the game that include transparency are limited. The designers have strict budgets for VRAM when it comes to champs/skins.Everything else is just painted on top of this map. The map is pre-rendered in layers (such-and-such wall can't be in front of another wall, because you can't rotate the view in League).LoL Devs have a few ways they tightly control how hard a machine has to work to handle the graphics: The most computationally expensive part of a computer game is (with few exceptions) the graphics pipeline. League has an engine they wrote, with their own design parameters in mind. The tools and libraries you might have running on top of that might have some bearing. It's an old, pretty fast language, and for most purposes the version of the language you're using is irrelevant.
